We have received a great variety of new books and magazines. Among them we have the Fifth annual from the cycling specialists at Rouleur, a monograph on the work of Barry McGeee Aka. Twister, splendid reading for the travellers in form of The Travel Almanac and photographic explorations on as diverse topics as Gypsies, the early Californian skate scene and the 80s NYC Subway.

The new Wood Wood Autumn Winter 2011 In-season collection is now available on-line and in all stores.

For men the collection features some super soft shetland wool sweater in two beautiful colors with intarsia knitted AA logo. Two sweatshirts in two colors and some T-shirts with new graphics.
Highlights for women include the favorite Lis dress in wool, a basic crew neck in a nice mixed luxury composition. A beautiful feminine shirt and skirt, the Galla pants in black and leggins for the cold weather ahead.

Our friends at Hoch Sanders Barduhn are organizing a flea market for charity for Doctors Without Borders work in Somalia. The situation is devastating because of the worst drought in 60 years combined with 20 years of civil war and very bad infra structure. The situation has not improved since the last Kein Durst fleamarket 2 months ago, so the effort has to continue. Last time they raised almost 7.000. This time there will hopefully be raised even more money and awareness.

So come along and be part.

The Michigan based workwear brand Carhartt has collaborated with New York designer Adam Kimmel on a collaborative collection. The result is a sophisticated workwear collection in materials such as moleskin, heavy canvas and cashmere. The collections key color themes are deep blue, black, indigo and gray. Kimmel changed the color scheme of the exterior Carhartt logo from the usual gold and deep crimson to a navy blue and red.

The collection is for sale in all stores and on-line.

Berlin based Koi Klub has been working closely with Onitsuka Tiger for many years now, and their collaboration keeps bringing unique sneakers to the market. Their latest effort on the X-Caliber is no different.
The base of the shoe is made in washed denim with rough edges and features delicate suede backtap and toebox. The shoe is delivered with faded laces and the Koi Klub koi-to-sneaker morph sockliner.

WW Berlin will launch the Mackintosh for Converse Jack Purcell Johnny Shoe tomorrow at noon.

The collaboration between the two brands brings three different versions of the classic Converse model. All three waterrepelent shoes feature white outsole and toebox-line in navy.
The Jack Purcells come in a navy with lime inner, an offwhite with chocolate inner and a dark olive with deep plum inner. All three versions are delivered with tonal laces and a spare pair of laces in the contrast colour.

Limited numbers.

As part of the ongoing collaboration with the local exhibition space KØS Museum of Public Art, we can now present the third installment courtesy of international art duo Elmgreen and Dragset who recently won the prestigious 'The Fourth Plinth' competion with their bronze sculpture of a young boy on a rocking horse, set to be unveiled on London's Trafalgar square in the near future.
While best known for their site-specific works such as the Prada fashion store in the high desert of West Texas, Elmgreen and Dragset didn't seem to have any problems with doing these basic men's and women's T-shirts available at WW Berlin, Copenhagen and on-line now.

The Pointer Crago shoe designed by Wood Wood for frontlineshop.coms 25th anniversary was presented in WW Berlin January 19th.

The result of the collaboration is a trend setting shoe in two strong colour ways: purple and racing green.
Our intention of the project was to work with a traditional inspired style and give it a fresh twist. The Pointer Crago is just that, a simple and sophisticated lace-up shoe with a stitch-down construction.
Coming in suede, the Pointer by Wood Wood shoe attains its special character not only by its vibrant colours but also thorough the perforations on the vamp that are a reference to both brogues and moccasins.
For the first time, the Crago comes with a crepe sole that completes the projects style perfectly. Also, each pair of shoes comes with three different sets of cord laces, allowing the wearer to play around with different colour combinations to personalize each shoe individually.

The Mita Sneakers store is located in the Ueno district of downtown Tokyo. Many decades ago, it started out as a retailer of Japanese-made footwear under the name of Mita-shoten, then about 40 years ago, its current president Kozaburo Mita decided to focus on selling sneakers and gave the store in the Ame-yoko district its current name.
By maintaining strong links to the local community, the store grew bigger and became renowned for stocking the finest sneakers in the area.

The japanese footwear specialists have collaborated on a number of projects with Asics over the years, and this new pair marks the third release from their Kirimomi Project.

The Mita Sneakers x Asics Gel Lyte III comes in a polished black leather with tonal leopard print pattern on the toebox, tongue and ankle. Also the shoe has a leopard printed insole, an offwhite midsole and 'Far East' printed backpiece at the sole.

The sneaker will release in WW Berlin this coming Saturday the 20th.

Dj Kaos, once described by WW designer Karl-Oskar as 'one of the best persons in this world', has produced a variety of twisted dance music for a number of years now. He's performed all over the Globe, from Europe, Japan, Australia to the US and has released original music on such seminal dance labels as Eskimo, Clone, For Discos Only, as well as early singles for Rong Music and now Rong/DFA. His remixes have proven in demand, remixing everyone from !!! (Chk Chk Chk) to Roxy Music to the New Young Pony Club. Kaos is a part of the exclusive K7 Records DJ Kicks mix series with his eclectic mix released in 1995, as well as his full-length solo LP released on K7 in 2005. He also participated in the Faith Records "Collectors Series" with a mix CD entitled "Danse, Gravite Zero" created with Sal Principiato of the legendary NYC group Liquid Liquid.

Friday night from 18-20 Wood Wood Copenhagen will release Zia Krohn & Joyce Lagerweij's book 'Concrete Messages: Street Art on the Israeli-Palestinian Separation Barrier'.

'Concrete Messages' is a new publication focusing on the Street Art on the IsraeliPalestinian Separation Barrier. Banksy was the first to paint on the Separation Barriere and since him lots of artist have travelled to the highly conflictious area in order to paint on the 8 meters tall wall. In 'Concrete Meassage' the stories of the artists that include Banksy, Blu, Faile, and Swoon, tell what they experienced and their motivation for painting on the controversial wall.

The authors will be present for signing.

The event takes place as part of Kulturnatten (Culture night in Copenhagen). Please come by for a Budweiser and a book.

Since then the factory in Herning, Denmark has been knitting high quality sweaters, scarves and beanies to protect against the cold and windy winthers at sea here in Denmark. The self-taught artist Mathias Hantho exhibits expressive works of mans psychological and spiritual conditions crafted in at hand material. Through paintings, drawings, photography and texts the artist describes mans search for meaning in life.

The four artist unions Bank & Rau, Hesselholdt & Mejlvang, Randi & Katrine and Ingen Frygt compose the artistic core in this exhibition, which are an exploration of artist unions and the general essence of the collective. As something rather complex but also not so complex, the work result of a united group of artists is often in a very sharp contrast to works of art created by only one artist. The exhibition investigate this loss of The Self which each artist comply with, in the aspiration to be a part of a larger context, and it also shed light upon the unity which is necessary within the group in order to reach an actual artistic production.

In the Wood Wood Sporting Club we still haven't really started practicing yet but never the less feel content that we will kick ass at the Nike sponsored STHLMVII event taking place in Stockholm June 6.

STHLMVII is a 7-aside football tournament, which aims to connect creative communities of Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö and Copenhagen through football. Besides being a football tournament STHLMVII is a series of seven talks by some of the most creative forces in Europe. The event kicks off on June 6, 2010, from midday at Zinkensdamm IP in Stockholm. Nike Sportswear invites people in Stockholm to come down to watch the tournament, attend free talks, try the BBQ and listen to music from All Out Dubstep and the Sås crew.

Will I Go To Hell For This is a new Danish book from three dedicated authors about graffiti on the Copenhagen S-trains from 1984 to 2009. After more than two years of work, more than 75 interviews and after selecting over 600 photos, the final result is a book that gives an overview of 25 years of Copenhagen S-train graffiti and offers the reader a rare glimpse into the hidden world of the graffiti writers. To cater for both the local Danish audience and the international graffiti community, the book comes in two versions, one with Danish text and another version with English text.

The hardcover book contains 264 high quality, full color pages filled with great photographs, informative text and exciting quotes. The title, Will I Go To Hell For This, refers to a piece painted by Rens in 1993, Rens also supplied the logo and foreword in the book. The subject of Copenhagen S-train graffiti is divided into 14 chapters, ranging from graffiti terms such as Panels, Window-downs, Wholecars, Bombing and Insides to more broad chapters like History, The Life, Yards, Tourists and Resistance.

Franco Ballerini has died following a crash during an amateur rally race. Born in Florence, his greatest exploits as a rider came with his two victories in the cycling classic Paris-Roubaix, riding for the Mapei cycling team. In 1993 he was beaten on the line by Gilbert Duclos-Lassalle in an exciting Paris-Roubaix finale. Also on his palmarès or list of accomplishments there are other one-day races such as Omloop Het Volk and Paris-Brussels.

From February 5, 2010 February 20, 2010, Ben Ross, the young aspiring artist, presents for the first time parts of his extensive work in his solo exhibition ARS AUTHENTICA in Berlin Mitte.

In over 100 drawings of various formats, he raises the question with a provocative undertone of what can currently be described as authentic. Ben Ross postulates the thesis that past and present substitute each other and allows both extremes to collide with each other by comparing his generation to other generations. Dictatorship versus democracy, politicians versus party kids; how does todays youth distinguish itself from the youth 60 years ago? How does ideology differ from non-ideology? How do I behave in a public life where everything is already public? We are forced to question the concept of authenticity as a whole.

Last saturday Wood Wood participated in the PX Basketball Tournament Berlin Kreuzberg. Unfortunately it was a wet and windy day, so it was 3-on-3 streetball played in the gym.
Team Wood Wood represented by Laust, Moritz and Shippi fared okay, winning two of four, barely missing out on a place in the semi-finals.

In the finals the hosts from Bread & Butter Berlin took on Team Pigalle from Paris. BBB won the finals 11-6.

Nice new stuff from Nike Sportswear has arrived in our Berlin store. WW Berlin also received the Nike Tennis Classic Vintage shoes(VNTG). They come in two colorways, white and black. A few more details about the Brickism project:

We invited 4 artists from 4 different cities to contribute to this project.
Each artist was asked to come up with sketches for a sculpture to be built in Lego bricks. We then connected the artists to Lego Fans in each country, who is responsible for the actual building.

Participating artists are:
HuskMitNavn / Copenhagen
Delta / Amsterdam
Will Sweeney / London
So Me / Paris

The sculptures will be shown in each of the 4 cities starting with Wood Wood, Copenhagen in August,
followed by
Colette, Paris in September,
Goodhood, London in October and
290 SQM, Amsterdam in November.

All sculptures will be auctioned off to benefit Save The Children.

We are excited to work with Lego on a new collaborative project. The Lego brick is a simple but genius object that incites to creativity, and for this project we have invited a few artists to come up with artwork that is to be build in bricks by builders from the Lego Fans network.
We look forward to see how the artists´ sketches will translate into 3D.

The result is this high-end odd-couple glossy Terminator hi-tops with a patent reptile pattern leather upper in Chocolate and Mint colorways. Skiing is an ancient sport and method of transportation, and it was specifically the slalom wizardry, downhill heroics, cross-country stamina and fearless jumpers seen at the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck that provided the inspiration for Bernhard Willhelms current autumn/winter mens collection. The latter is not strictly speaking a skiwear collection, however, but rather what the groundbreaking fashion designer considers a striped hybrid; while boasting both substance and style, some of the outfits provide barely enough protection when it comes to withstanding sub-zero temperatures.

To accompany his ski outfits, Bernhard Willhelm has joined forces with MYKITA, the couturiers of ultra-light glasses frames, to present three mirrored sunglasses models. The result is a trio of aviator-style sheet-metal frames: FRANZ, SEPP and LUKE. All models are available in colours matching those of the clothing collection: blue, white and gold.

To accompany the womens collection Bernhard Willhelm and MYKITA have created two new styles of metal sunglasses, one round, one square. Both models are available in three versions: gold with brown gradient lenses, gold with gold-mirrored lenses and silver with grey gradient lenses. All three executions feature contrasting hinges: gold features silver hinges and vice versa.

The T-shirt design was originally suggested for the Danish Social Democratic Party´s congress in 2006, but due to the controversial content it was dropped. Jakob S Boeskov has made a major impact in the art scene during the last couple of years, with both solo and group shows around the globe.
